Rice spirit

For most modern gins, the base spirit is made from cereal grains (such as wheat, barley or corn) or molasses. At The Kyoto Distillery, we use a rice-based spirit (RBS) sourced from a Japanese company.

Our RBS is of the highest quality, and is far more expensive than conventional base spirits, but it was the unanimous choice of our team during a comparative blind tasting.

Chosen for its distinctive flavour, the RBS has a clean taste and undertones of sweet grass. Its luxurious, velvety texture ultimately delivers a delicious and smooth tasting experience.
