The Kyoto Distillery is hiring a distillers

We are looking for a new distillers to join our Kyoto-based team, crafting our award-winning KI NO BI gin.

Job Description
  • Production of spirits and liqueurs
  • Production quality control
  • Distillery cleaning and facility maintenance
  • Sourcing botanicals, stock and quality control
  • Bottling and packaging production
  • Dispatch of orders
  • New product development
  • Participating in trade and consumer events

We are looking for an engaged individual who is willing to work as part of a small team in all areas of the distillation process. Candidates must exhibit a continuous improvement mind set and must also demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and leadership.

Minimum Requirements
  • A recent graduate from a relevant science-based university course,
    someone with previous experience of working in the distilling industry.
  • Native level Japanese plus good spoken and written English
  • Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
  • A valid driving licence
Working Conditions 9:00~18:00 (5:00~14:00 or 12:00~21:00 if double shift operation is required)
Days off on Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays. It is likely we will move to seven days a week shift operation as our business grows
※Participation at weekend events might be required (for each of which you will receive a day off in lieu)

Other Conditions Monthly Salary: ¥230,000~ (depending on your experience, skill and knowledge)
Probation Period: 6 months (all conditions are the same as for full-time staff but on a contract basis)

Passing the Hazardous Materials Handler test and Forklift Driving Licence within the probation period is a prerequisite to becoming a full-time staff member.

Salary Increase and yearly bonus: once a year (depending on both company and individual performance)
Transportation Fee: company will cover (but there will be a limit so please ask) ※You can come to work by a car, motorbike or bicycle.
Staff discount: you will receive staff discount on purchases made at The Kyoto Distillery or House of KI NO BI
